What sort of financial aid package will you be receiving? Money matters, even when youre following your dreams. Debate the money issue with your family. You dont always have to choose the cheaper option, but you should always give it careful consideration. Whats the curriculum like? Believe it or not, theres a fair amount of learning to be done in college. If you have your heart set on becoming a world class sculptor, then dont accept an offer from a school whose art department focuses primarily on photography. Make sure that the courses you want to take will be offered when you want to take them. Choosing a college is a process of self-reflection. According to the US law, a business, partnership, a corporation or an individual like you and me, can seek relief from debt under Chapter 7 of the bankruptcy law. Last year on October 17, 2005, a new bankruptcy law was passed and a means test was introduced. It determines whether you are eligible or not to file under Chapter 7. The point behind the means test is to determine whether you have enough money left to pay back some of the money you owe to your creditors or not, after all your allowed living expenses are taken in to account.It is calculated by subtracting an IRS allowed living expenses from your monthly income. The average American could see a 1-lb weight gain every 14-15 days from the consumption of regular pop. Several scientific studies have demonstrated that the empty calories of soft drinks are directly related to weight gain, which in turn becomes a prime risk factor for Type 2 Diabetes. If you think switching to diet pop is the answer, then think again. If youre sad, then the food of choice is usually sweet, creamy foods like chocolate and ice cream since the sugar helps to lift your energy and mood. Just the morning commute to work can begin to stress your life. Add to that a noisy, busy office environment and youre ready for some serious snacking. Youre making an appointment to release your emotions which is good personal therapy. If after the six minutes you are still hungry, then go ahead and get a small, healthy snack to satisfy your hunger. Most people find they dont need to eat when they complete their journal entry. Key 4 Reward Yourself! The one overriding aspect of most diets is denial which is a negative approach instead of a positive approach to weight management. Is there anyone who doesnt like a reward? We all love a reward. We live our lives for rewards. Building rewards into your program helps to tame the tension. Many experts suggest getting ten percent of your calories from fun foods. If youre on a 1500 calories program then that is 150 calories. According to research from the University of Cincinnati, a little sugar helps your body cope with stress since it may decrease the production of glucocorticoid, a stress hormone linked to storing belly fat. Experts recommend choosing a snack that also contains protein since protein will help slow the release of sugar into the body. If you can combine this with fiber, even better. Build rewards into your program. If you need a daily reward, then build a favorite snack into your program if it meets the criteria of having some protein to offset the sugar; the higher the protein and lower the sugar the better. Throw it some fiber and that makes your daily reward even better. Maybe you want to reward yourself for the weekend or you have a special event coming up. Bank your daily rewards for that one day on the weekend or for that special event. You didnt gain your weight in a day but over days, weeks and years of making certain choices. Letting your self have permission to reward yourself is important. If youve banked your daily reward of 150 calories than you have 900 calories to reward yourself with on that weekend day. Enjoy them and then get back on track the next day to work towards your weight loss or weight management goal. The key to successful weight loss that leads to successful long-term weight management is to learn how to incorporate habits that compliment your daily life. Though they’re lauded by users and critics alike, together with us, U.S. carriers, haven’t clamored to include the handsets in their lineups. Sure, Cingular offers the W600i, but that’s the exception rather than the rule. Sony Ericsson no doubt has taken notice of this discrepancy, which may be a reason behind the Sony Ericsson W300i. While previous Walkman phones were packed with the most expensive features, the W300i aims to be a low-end Walkman phone. Although you still get Bluetooth, a VGA camera, and the full range of Walkman music compatibility, the on the whole effect is a step down from models like the Sony Ericsson W810i. We weren’t crazy about some design elements, but call caliber was good, and we commend Sony Ericsson for bringing mobile music to the masses. No carrier was set at the time of this review, so the GSM handset will run you $299. So far, Sony Ericsson has stuck to swivel and candy bar designs for its Walkman phones, so we were glad to see the company roll out a flip phone in the series. From the exterior it’s quite elegant; our version came in black, but You can get it in white too. It doesn’t bear much of a resemblance to the company’s few other flip phones; we like the clean lines, the looped antenna, and the textured covering on the bottom of the front flap. The phone is moderately compact at 3.5 by 1.8 by 1.0 inches, so it’s easily put in most pockets. It’s also quite light for its size at 3.3 ounces, but the trade-off is that the all round construction feels just a bit flimsy. We didn’t have any problems when using the phone, but it felt almost too light in our hands. In the center of the front flap is the postage stamp-size outside screen. The flat soft keys, clear button, and back control are spaced far from the toggle, but they’re quite small given the phone’s size. Also, while this isn’t a bad thing, hold in mind that most Sony Ericsson phones do not have dedicated Talk and End keys. The keypad buttons are worse, on the other hand. Designed similar to overlapping circles, they are flat with the surface of the phone and slippery, which made for a few misdials. Enen more, they don’t lend themselves to quick texting. On the upside, they have a bright orange backlight. Below them are a dedicated power control and a button for activating the Walkman player, but these are much too little. The Memory Stick Micro slot is under the plastic battery cover, but thankfully, you don’t have to remove the battery, to get at it. The W300i has a 1,000-contact phone book with room in each entry for five phone numbers, e-mail and Web addresses, business and home street addresses, a birthday date, and notes (the SIM card holds an additional 250 names). You can classify contacts into groups, pair them with a photo for caller ID, or attach them one of 28 (40-chord) polyphonic ring tones. Support for MP3 ring tones is present as well, but be informed that caller ID images do not appear on the outter display. Other features include a vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, voice dialing, a calendar, a task list, a notepad, a calculator, a timer, a stopwatch, and a code memo for storing passwords and other secure information. There’s also a recorder for both voice memos and calls; length is sparing by on hand memory. Although the W300i is considered an entry-level Walkman phone, it still comes with a pretty good number of business-friendly applications.
